Top Print Trends for Fall/Winter 2024: Leopard, Tartan, Cow Print & More
Just like any other season in fashion history, we are embracing a mix of new and classic print trends.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at the top prints for Fall/Winter 2024.
1. Leopard Print
Leopard print has remained strong for quite some time now. This season, we’re seeing more daring applications though, from full-length coats to ballet flats with a touch of leopard. Designers are also experimenting with alternative color palettes, offering both matte and glossy finishes, as well as shades of grey.
While it's trendier than ever, let’s also admit it—leopard print is timeless, so much so that brands like Dolce & Gabbana or Ganni have never had a collection without it. It is now more of a question how long the extreme hype will last.
Prediction: Leopard print will likely remain a fashion staple at least through 2025. My guess is that it could experience a very slow decline beyond that.
2. Cow Print
Cow print is still trending as well with such an absolute statement appeal. Mostly seen in handbags and outerwear, it’s a fresh choice for those looking to swap out leopard print for a different animal pattern.
Staple item: Samsøe Samsøe’s 'Salylo' handbag, with its beautiful cow print and aesthetic design, has been out of stock for a while. So, if you spot it, catch it while you can!
3. Tartan
A forever fall staple, the Scottish-inspired tartan print is back as one of the hottest trends. This classic pattern now features unexpected color combinations and oversized designs.
Of course, you can’t go wrong by sticking to traditional plaid colors—those are totally in this fall as well!
4. Gothic Florals
Some florals are going to the dark side this season! Gothic floral prints are making a comeback with deep reds, blacks, purples, and midnight blues.
A mixture of darkness, vintage, and romantic vibes, these prints are perfect for those who would like to add a pinch of drama to their wardrobe.
Spotlight: It seems like Erdem’s FW 2024 Collection is a pioneer of the trend.
5. Pinstripes
Here’s finally one for the minimalist souls. Pinstripes are absolutely in this fall, from corporate boardroom outfits to more relaxed daily wear. We’ll be seeing the pattern on wide-legged trousers, oversized blazers, as well as vests - the it-item of last few seasons.
Unlike the other prints, pinstripes seem to be still more connected to the original and neutral shades - navy, black, and grey being the main base.

Beyond these 5 trends, a few more patterns deserve to be at least mentioned. Stripes have remained relevant since last Fall/Winter. Argyle is another favorite particularly in knitwear. Blurry florals continue to be seen in dresses as well.
With that, I wish you happy trend shopping and see you soon with the trend report for colors!
